Originally founded as Sallianne's Dance Studio by Sallianne Cornell, the school offered dance classes in Brookmans Park. As the dance school grew in size, Salliane moved her classes to the Royal Vet College, then Little Heath, and finally to Tilbury Hall at Potters Bar United Reformed Church.
The school offered disco dancing classes for adults and children, with the adult classes changing to line dancing when this started to become more popular. Along with Adult Ballroom and Latin group classes and private lessons.
Angie started helping at the Sallianne's Dance Studio when she was 15 years old, taking over the line dance classes from Sallianne in 2004. In 2012 Angie bought the school when Sallianne was no longer able to run it, rebranding as Angie's Dance Academy.
Today the school is known as Angie's Dance Academy UK and it continues to provide it's original children's freestyle (a modern version of disco dancing, which covers genres such as street, commercial and lyrical, as well as the traditional disco dance style) adult line dance and adult ballroom and latin classes along with private lessons.
The school continues to grow and in recent years new styles of dance have been added such as:
Latin in line - offering an alternative to ballroom and latin partner classes, opening the doors to those who don't have partners to dance with
Popdance, - Fun Dance Classes, Parties and Events to Pop Music!
Popdance teach adults, teens, children and tots, fun dance routines to pop music from the 80s, 90s, 00s and current tracks
Inclusive Para Dance - an inclusive dance class for those who would otherwise be excluded. It's a fun, recreational activity ranging from street to folk dance, giving everyone the chance to dance.
